  2. Internet Mail and News 1.5b1 includes multi-user support,
  3. allowing users to create individual preferences and switch
  4. users on the fly without having to perform a complex work
  5. around.   This is useful in a home or classroom where each
  6. user of Internet Mail and News needs to have a personal
  7. copy of their Internet Mail and News folders and address
  8. book. You can switch easily between users using the Switch
  9. User command in the Edit menu. Internet Mail and News
  10. can be configured to prompt you for your personal POP
  11. account password when you log on, preventing others
  12. from easily accessing your account.

  14. Internet Mail and News does not lock people out of the file
  15. system. Anyone who has access to the finder can see other
  16. user files and change, add or delete information. Multiple
  17. user support is designed to be used with a software
  18. program like Apple Computer's At Ease, which restricts
  19. access to the Finder. See http://www.apple.com for more

  22. To set up multiple users:

  24. 1. On the Edit menu, choose Switch User.
  25. 2. Click New.
  26. 3. Type in a name for the new user and click OK.
  27. A user folder for the new user is created and
  28. Internet Mail and News switches to this folder.
  29. 4. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
  30. 5. In the Mail Server tab, enter the mail server
  31. information for this user.
  32. 6. Select Ask For Password On Startup if you want
  33. this user to enter their POP password before
  34. the startup process completes and the user's
  35. mail is visible.
  36. 7. In the News Server tab, enter the news server
  37. information for this user.
  38. 8. Click OK.

  40. Once multiple users are set up, the Switch User
  41. dialog box will appear when the application is
  42. started and the user will need to choose their
  43. name from the list. If the user selected has the
  44. password preference on, a Password dialog box will
  45. appear and the POP password will need to be typed
  46. before proceeding.

  48. When you create a new user, a folder with the
  49. user's name is added to the IMN User(s) folder in
  50. the Internet Mail and News application folder.
  51. Each user folder contains that following: Address
  52. Book, Internet Mail, Internet Mail and News Prefs,
  53. and Internet News.

  55. Internet Config Users: If you are using Internet
  56. Config, use it as a template for the information
  57. that all users will share, such as the news server.
  58. Since the information entered in Internet Config
  59. will appear as the default information in the
  60. preferences dialog box for all new users, do not
  61. enter any information that is specific to one
  62. user. Internet Config is a third-party application
  63. that enables Internet applications to share
  64. preferences. If you would like more information
